Portfolio model call · Women 40+
Women over 40a portrait experience
Five women wanted for an exclusive portrait portfolio project.
I am an established newborn, maternity and family photographer in Barking, and I am expanding into contemporary women's portraiture. To create the first collection, I am inviting five women to join me in the studio for a complete, beautifully looked-after portrait experience.
01The project
An established studio, a new kind of portrait.
The same studio and the same care, in a new genre.
EvaGud Photography is known for newborn, maternity and family portraits, made in a calm studio with plenty of time. Women's portraiture is the next chapter, and I am bringing the same standards to it: considered light, patient direction and careful editing.
What is new is the subject and the style. These portraits will be contemporary and understated, made for women who would like to be photographed well and who will enjoy the experience.
To create the first collection, I am inviting five women to take part. It is a collaboration. You receive a complete studio portrait experience, and I build the first chapter of a new service with women who care about the result.
You do not need modelling experience, a particular look or a particular career. You only need to be curious about seeing yourself beautifully photographed.
02What is involved
What you receive, what you pay, and what I ask of you.
£150
Introductory portfolio rate
This exclusive £150 portfolio rate is available to just five women as I introduce my new portrait photography service. In return, participants agree to allow selected images to be used in my portfolio and marketing, with the details agreed in writing before their session. Once the new service launches, sessions will be offered at my standard pricing.
AWhat you receive
- A pre-session consultation
- A fully guided studio portrait session of 60 to 90 minutes
- Up to three outfit changes
- A private viewing, where you choose your two favourite photographs
BWhat you pay
- £150 in total for everything listed under “What you receive”.
- Additional images are optional. After your private viewing, extra photographs are available to purchase separately. There is absolutely no obligation to buy anything.
- A portfolio rate. The £150 is a reduced rate in exchange for using selected images in my portfolio and marketing, agreed in writing beforehand. It is not offered as a session without image use, for which my standard rates apply.
- Payment. If you are selected, I will confirm how and when to pay.
CWhat is expected of you
- Apply with a recent photograph — a simple, everyday photo is fine.
- Be aged 40 or above and able to visit my studio in Barking.
- Agree image use in writing before your session: a short conversation about how selected portraits may be used.
- Take part in a consultation about your style and what you would like to wear.
- Come to your session with a few outfits you feel like yourself in.
- Return for your private viewing to choose your two favourites.
03Before you apply
What I ask in return.
The introductory rate exists because I will want to use selected portraits from your session in my portfolio, on my website, on social media and in advertising.
So please apply only if you are comfortable having a conversation about that. It is a simple one, and I would rather it was clear from the start.
- Agreed in writing, before the sessionWe will talk through exactly which uses you are happy with, and put them in a written image-use permission before any session is booked.
- Handled with careYour details and images are handled in line with UK GDPR. The written permission will cover how long images may be used and what happens if you later change your mind.
- No surprisesIf we cannot agree a version that works for both of us, we simply will not go ahead, and there is no obligation on either side.
04Who can apply

All backgrounds, shapes and styles are welcome. I am looking for women who appreciate beautiful photography and would enjoy a premium studio experience.
Aged 40 and above

Many of the families I photograph come back to me for further sessions, which is the best measure of how the experience feels.

I am insured, and a member of the Guild of Professional Photographers and SWPP.
Looked after throughout
A consultation first, then makeup, guided direction, and a private viewing where you choose your two favourites, with no pressure to buy.
07My existing work
The standard you can expect.
These images are from my established maternity and newborn portfolio. They show how I light, edit and finish a portrait. Women's portraits are the new collection we will create together.

09Questions
Good to know.
Still unsure? Email hello@evagudphotography.co.uk and I will be happy to help.
The project
Is this your first women’s portrait project?
Women’s portraiture is a new service for my studio, and these five sessions are the start of the collection. The studio, the standard of lighting and editing, and the way I look after clients are not new. You can see my established work in my portfolio and in the reviews on my website, and you are welcome to email me with any questions before you apply.
Do I need modelling experience?
No. Most women who take part have never been professionally photographed. We talk through the session beforehand, and in the studio I guide you throughout, so you never have to wonder what to do.
What happens after I apply?
I will review every application. If you are selected for one of the five places, I will contact you to talk about the project and answer your questions. Applying does not guarantee a place, and I may not be able to offer one to everyone who applies.
Cost and what is included
How much does it cost, and why £150?
The participation fee is £150. It includes professional makeup, a pre-session consultation, a fully guided studio session with up to three outfit changes, and two professionally retouched digital portraits of your choice. If you are selected, I will confirm how and when to pay.
It is an introductory portfolio rate, offered to just five women as I introduce this new service. In return, participants agree to allow selected images to be used in my portfolio and marketing, with the details agreed in writing before the session. Once the new service launches, sessions will be offered at my standard pricing.
It is a portfolio rate. If images are not used, my standard rates apply instead, with the £150 you have paid credited. This is covered in the written agreement before your session.
Is professional makeup included?
Yes. Professional makeup is included in the participation fee and is done before we begin photographing.
How do I choose my two portraits?
After your session, you come back to the studio for a private viewing of your portraits. You choose your two favourite photographs, and I professionally retouch them and deliver them to you as digital files. They are included in the £150.
Can I purchase additional photographs?
Yes, if you would like to. Your two retouched portraits are included in the fee. After your private viewing, I will talk you through the options for additional images. There is absolutely no obligation to buy.
Your session
What should I expect on the day?
You arrive at the studio and have your professional makeup done first. Then I guide you through the session, with up to three outfit changes, so you always know what to do. Approximately 60 to 90 minutes is spent photographing, plus time for makeup beforehand, and we agree the timings at your consultation.
What should I wear?
Bring a few outfits you feel like yourself in, and we will choose together. You can have up to three outfit changes. We will talk about colours and styles at your consultation, so you will not be guessing.
Where is the studio?
Suite 3, The Granary, 80 Abbey Road, Barking IG11 7BT, in East London. Sessions are by appointment only.
Your photographs and privacy
Will my photographs be shared publicly?
Only selected portraits, and only in the ways we agree. The introductory rate is in exchange for my using some images in my portfolio, website, social media and advertising, so I ask applicants to be comfortable discussing that.
Before any session, we will agree the details in writing, in line with UK GDPR, including how long images may be used and what happens if you change your mind. If you decide you do not want your images used, my standard rates apply instead of the introductory rate, as explained under “How much does it cost” above.
What happens to the photograph I upload with my application?
It is sent securely to me and used only to review your application. It is never published or shared. If you are not selected, I delete it within 30 days of your application. If you take part, we will agree in writing how it is kept.
