Oh the joy of holding your tiny little baby for the first time! But they grow up so fast and you do not want to miss this chance to capture portraits so you can cherish this moment in life forever.

The ideal time to photograph the newborns is when they are between 5 and 15 days old in order to achieve the sleepy womb-like poses, and the best time to book your photoshoot is just after your second scan. This way I can ensure your session will take place within the ideal for time frame for the newborn session. The session date will be confirmed after your baby has arrived.

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions that I get regarding my newborn photography sessions:

Q: What days can I book a session for?

A: All of my newborn session take place on the weekdays from Monday to Friday AM. I have limited weekend availability so please do allow plenty of time if you have a specific date in mind, so that I could accommodate you.

Q: When is a good time to book newborn sessions?

A: Any time before birth and perhaps a few days after is the best time to book – the earlier, the better. I generally reserve a time for the expected due date; however, don’t worry about being late or early. Since newborns aren’t known for being punctual, I won’t set a fixed date until after they arrive.

Because of these time accommodations that allow for early or late arrivals, I can only take a limited amount of newborn bookings every month.

Q: Where will my session take place?

A: My sessions take place in my studio in Barking, Essex, where I have a wealth lovely backdrops, headbands and props to choose from.

Q: What do I need to bring to my session?

A: I’ll take care of the props for baby, no need to bring any decorations along. All you need to bring is some extra nappies, a dummy if you have one, something to keep baby warm, and plenty of extra feeds if baby is bottle-fed. Since your newborn’s wellbeing is the most important thing, bring along anything that helps baby feel content and right as rain.

Q: Can I have my prints/products delivered?

A: Prints and products are collection only from my studio.

Q: Will I get the print release to my photos after the session?

A: Yes! I make sure your photos are entirely yours. So, upon receiving your images, you will also get a full print release. This means that you’re free to print the photos of your precious little bundle however you see fit.

Q: Will my photos be posted publicly on your site or social media?

A: I respect the privacy of every parent and newborn I work with. You have full say in whether your photos are uploaded online or not. I will always ask for permission beforehand. But if you’d like to show off your newborn, I’d be happy to help! 

 Q: Will you hide any unwanted spots, wrinkles, etc. in my images?

A: Sometimes, we wake up looking a little worse for wear. Other times its blemishes, acne, and whatever else – that’s life. It’s also especially true for newborn babies whose bodies are just getting used to the outside world! So, I edit every photo. I remove flakes, baby acne, spots, and food to give your images that sleek final finish. However, if you don’t want me to fully retouch yours or your baby’s skin, that’s absolutely fine. All you have to do is let me know beforehand.
