Hello, new mum and dad!
Congratulations on your little bundle of joy. As a new parent in Barking, capturing those precious first moments of your baby’s life is likely high on your priority list. EvaGud Photography specialises in creating beautiful memories for your newborn. Here are five key things to know about newborn photography sessions!
1. Timing is Everything (But Don’t Panic!)
The ideal time for a newborn photoshoot is within the first three weeks of your baby’s life. During this period, babies tend to sleep more soundly and can be easily positioned into those adorable curly poses we all love.
But don’t worry if you’re reading this and thinking, “Oh no, we’ve missed the boat!” There are loads of gorgeous options for older babies too.
The best bet is to drop me a line early in your pregnancy, ideally after your 20-week scan. This way, we can have a proper chin-wag about what you’re after and make sure everything’s set for your bub’s big debut.
2. Newborn photography sessions: Safety First, Always
Your baby’s wellbeing is my top priority, full stop.
At EvaGud Photography, your baby’s safety is my top priority. A lot of precautions are established to ensure a secure environment for your little one. This includes sanitising all props, using weighted sandbags for stability in props like buckets or baskets, and always watching your baby.
3. Newborn Photography Sessions in Barking: Your Baby’s the Boss
The studio newborn sessions are entirely baby-led, which means every shoot is intended to work around your little one’s needs. Sessions can last up to three hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding, comforting, and capturing those perfect moments.
Babies operate on their own schedules, so flexibility and patience are important, and I incorporate them into the whole process: if your little one needs a break, that’s absolutely fine. We’ll go at their pace, ensuring they’re happy and comfortable throughout. After all, a content baby makes for the loveliest photos!
4. Styling you’ll LOVE
Before your session, a detailed discussion about styling options is made to ensure that your preferred style is understood. There is an assortment of colours, fabrics, outfits, bags, and even headbands to choose from.
All this is to ensure that your photos align with your preferred style. Whether you prefer minimalist, nature-inspired, or vibrant and colourful themes, there is flexibility to accommodate your style.
5. Creating Beautiful Newborn Keepsakes
After we’ve wrapped up the shoot, I’ll carefully select and edit the best images to make sure they’re absolutely perfect… and here is where the real magic happens!
Approximately 2 weeks after your session I will welcome you back to my newborn photography studio in Barking (London) for your gallery reveal, where you’ll find a stunning slideshow of your baby’s first professional photos. It’s a bit magical, really.
Once you’ve fallen head over heels for your images (and trust me, you will), you can choose from digital bundles, all-inclusive collections, or beautiful printed artwork. Whatever your choice, we’ll make sure these precious memories are preserved just the way you want.
